Emu Park
Situated on the Capricorn Coast, Emu Park is a small coastal village overlooking the beautiful islands of Keppel Bay. Emu Park is renowned for its natural beauty, scenery and kilometres of pristine, unspoilt beaches that enjoys an ideal sub-tropical climate.
With 22ha of wetlands a 25 minute drive away, often compared in beauty and diversity of wildlife to that of the Kakadu and 45 minutes drive to dramatic ranges, national parks and waterfalls, the Capricorn Coast features some of the most breathtaking and diverse natural coastal beauty available.

Originally referred to by the Aboriginal people as "Oopal"
- "Place of Emu's", the area became popular in
the 1870's amongst Rockhampton business people, central and
western graziers and sheep farmers as a seaside resort, anxious
to gain possession of blocks of land for their holiday retreats
overlooking the Keppel Islands.
On a lovely day, May 30th, 1970, Captain
James Cook's journey through the Keppels on the
voyage of the Endeavour was commemorated by the construction
of the Singing
Ship, a soaring white musical sculpture located
on the headland.
